Give out your Social Security on a rental application?

Superman asked: Hi I’m renting a room from people. On the form it asks for a social security number. Is this normal? I know they need to run a credit check so do they need it to run the check? I’m kind of weary giving it to an individual. Website content Share and Enjoy:

Can I obtain more attractive real estate financing terms by using a stock portfolio as additional collateral?
